Explosion-Proof Electric Resistors for Gas Heating
Electric resistors for gas heating are designed to pre-heat process gas, technical gases and natural gas upstream of pressure-reduction stations, expansion valves or industrial burners. In most applications the gas itself is flammable, so the heater must comply with strict surface temperature limits (T-class) and, where required, hold ATEX certification to operate safely in a potentially explosive atmosphere (Zone 1 or Zone 2).
- Armoured tubular cartridge design, insertable into a thermowell or in direct contact with the gas flow
- Power density calibrated to stay well below the auto-ignition temperature of the gas being heated
- ATEX II 2G/2D certification available for zones with flammable gas or combustible dust
- Typical use: natural gas pre-heating upstream of expansion valves (Joule-Thomson effect), pressure-reduction and odorisation stations, technical gas lines
- AISI 304/316 materials and sealed sheaths to resist condensate and corrosive agents carried by the gas
